About Us

About Us

At St. Vincent’s we work in co-operation with other agencies through the federation of voluntary bodies. We currently receive funding from the Health Service Executive and Cork City Council.

We employ around 45 members of staff in the following areas:

  • Nurses
  • Social Care Workers
  • Care assistants
  • General operatives

At St. Vincent’s we are very proud of the fact that we can provide complete 24 hour nursing care to all of our residents. Our team that supports the trained nursing staff such as care assistants and social care workers are able to provide that extra level of personal attention that our residents need and deserve.

We currently have around 56 full time residents within our residential home. However we encourage whenever possible for residents to visit friends and family members during weekends and over holiday periods such as Christmas.

This helps our residents to maintain some level of independence and freedom while still living with us on a full time basis. We have found over the years that this is something that is very effective in increasing the self-confidence and morale of our patients.

Our residents range in age from 23 to 86, and they are from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs. This is also reflected within our own staff members who also come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, cultures and belief’s.

We have units that cater for our resident’s different levels of care needs.

At St. Vincent’s we have:

  • An elder care unit which caters for the active elderly
  • An  infirmary unit for those with increased care needs
  • Individual treatment plans
  • Ongoing assessment of all residents

At St. Vincent’s we constantly strive to provide the best level of care and attention possible to all of our residents. That is why we like to think of St. Vincent’s as a warm, friendly and homelike atmosphere that our residents can really relax within.

From our many years of experience in treating those who have intellectual disabilities we appreciate how stressful and challenging it can be for them to move to a new environment.

At St. Vincent’s we make the process as painless as possible with our trained staff always on hand to provide the appropriate medical or indeed emotional support needed.

After you have been inside St. Vincent’s, we are sure that you will agree that St. Vincent’s is the most appropriate facility in which to place a loved one or family member who is experiencing difficulties living independently in the community.
